Shawnee Heights School District has a charitable not-for-profit district foundation organized exclusively for educational purposes.  The Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation is composed of a twelve member board of directors whose governing of the foundation is completely separate from the school district Board of Education.  The foundation Board of Directors provides leadership, advice, and other professional expertise in determining distribution of foundation funds.  The purpose of the foundation is to establish a monetary fund for educational projects or grants throughout the Shawnee Heights School District.  Contributions made by individuals or groups may be designated for a specific purpose, or may be donated to the foundation to be used for teacher grants or other projects established by the foundation.

The foundation hosts fund-raising events throughout the year that includes a golf tournament, a breakfast, and discount cards sold by students.

Funds raised from these events are available for teachers to apply for mini-grants to be used for special projects in their classrooms and for scholarships for Shawnee Heights students. The funds may also be used throughout the year for special requests.
